Foraging Tour
Service Description
Go beyond farm to table and explore the culinary potential of foraging around our 100 acre farm. Led by naturalist Sam Lee Wasserman, our foraging tour explores the culinary and medicinal potential of the plants growing natively on our farm and throughout California. Gather and learn about the history and uses of a variety of native flora. You’ll leave with an expanded knowledge and appreciation of the magnificent ecosystems of Paso Robles and the Central Coast. This tour is only suitable for children above 7 years old due to the difficulty of the walk and the sampling of plants. The tour will take place on our dirt roads, exploring the native oak woodland and grassland abundant with foragable plants. At the conclusion of the tour Sam will prepare tea from foraged plants on the farm. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes, wear sunscreen and bring water. We can accommodate all levels of ability in order to provide a comfortable experience for all guests. Tour availability is subject to road and weather conditions. Our farm is conveniently located 10 minutes drive from Downtown Paso Robles and centrally located within the Adelaida Wine District.
